This ring is the second in what i hope will be an ongoing collection inspired by writer Roald Dahl, as a kid, his books really captivated my imagination, and sparked my lifelong dream to be a writer. This early inspiration taught me that above all else, imagination is one of the most important things to protect and cultivate.
This ring is named after the book 'The Witches,' in which the main character is dosed with "formula 86" by a group of witches who hate children. This potion causes the boy to transform into a mouse while still retaining his consciousness and speech. As a personal talisman it reminds me of the occasional feeling of smallness that sometimes washes over me, and how important it is to retain ones imagination and thoughtfulness during turbulent times.
The mouse skull used to make the mold for this ring was garnered by urban exploration at an old power plant that is now home to owls and hawks. The floor was nearly carpeted by bones and owl pellets, which is where this lovely specimen came from.
The ring is made of sterling silver with a split V band for weight balance. It has been oxidized to a deep gloomy gray, and then brushed to reveal the ethereal silver beneath. Sterling silver is a semi-precious metal, and will not turn your finger green, made to last a life time and onward.
The ring is 1" long and .5" wide at its widest
