Named after the goddess Hecate, two owl talons cast in sterling silver form a crescent moon, reimagined with the points of the moon facing up, representing the diadem. 

Considered one of the ancient goddesses, (and in some tales), the only Titan allowed to retain her authority after the Olympians seized control, Hecate is a triple faced goddess associated with the moon, witchcraft, the Underworld, specters and the dead. She is also well known as the Goddess of crossroads, symbolically viewed as the liminal space between worlds. Because of these attributes, she has an ability to accept the strange and shadowy nature of people, making her a personal favorite of mine. 

Here, Hecate is represented by the diadem shape she is occasionally depicted as wearing in art history. This crescent crown speaks to her role as a Goddess of the Moon in both its crescent shape, as well as its full moon shape, shown here as an 8mm fine cut round onyx. 

Onyx is best known for being a natural stone that acts as a kind of 'psychic armor' against the negativity of others. It is also used to sooth grief and heartbreak. It is a wonderful grounding stone and a stone of self mastery, enabling its wearers to have mental and spiritual focus.
