As seen within several other pieces of my work, the 8 of swords is my favorite tarot card.
A raven haired figure is shown bound and blindfolded, encircled by a crescent of swords. The curious aspect of this figure in peril is that despite how bleak her situation seems, her feet aren't bound as her arms are and she is free to break through her restraints at her own time.
By connecting the Catholic 'Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows' rosary piece, a signature symbol in my collection, with a tarot card image of a single, lightweight sword cast from a vintage piece, I'm marrying two spiritual traditions into a new one, filled with all the grief and stress of life with the possibility of breaking through it, sword in hand.
This listing is for one necklace, the sterling version, hand oxidized to achieve my shade of gloomy gray, perfectly matched with a sterling bar link chain. the necklace is reversible, as both the sword/dagger and the connector are visual interesting on both sides.
Chain is 30 inches long from end to end. sword and connector is 3 inches long. Necklace is 18 inches long on each side.
