Bat wing and leg bones were carefully manipulated in wax to form an intriguing Lorraine cross based on our beloved original & cast in sterling silver. 

The Lorraine cross holds many meanings for me personally. For one, it is the sigil of St. Joan of Arc, infamous for her visions of god, and her bloody crusades as an armored warrior. As both a lover of France and strange saints, this symbol represents my obsession with Joan.

Also, the Lorraine cross is associated with alchemy and the hermetic maxim 'As Above, So Below', or that all things contain a similar essence, what happens in one realm, happens in the other. This maxim is also associated with 'The Magician' tarot card.

The two bars of the cross represent a balance of male and female and spirit and earth, the physical and the emotional, the planet and the cosmos. The third bar, or the middle shaft represents the 'other' or divine influence, the true trinity, creating an equilibrium of elements.

The Large Lorraine Cross measures 2.4 inches at its widest and stands at 3.6 inches tall. Paired with our signature sterling silver bar link chain, oxidized to our rich shade of gloomy grey at 30" { as seen in images of Melissa and Sophi } or 34" to layer with your other jewels.
