Hawk talons have been manipulated to form this tiny crescent moon, perfect alone, stacked with a nesting band, or worn as a 'midi' ring.

Steeped in mythology & magic, the crescent is my favorite shape of the lunar phases of the moon. Resembling a horned moon, a glowing sickle in the darkness of the night sky. Taking the shape of the moon at the end and the beginning of her journey, it also represents the thinnest part of her revealed during her cycle.

The crescent has also been associated with Diana, goddess of the hunt, the Egyptian goddess Isis as well as the Virgin Mary. The moon is known as feminine, potent energy.

As many other birds of prey, the Hawk is considered to be a 'Messenger' between the natural world, and the spirit realm, which in myth and folklore, exists alongside our world and is generally 'unseen'. Hawks, cunning hunters, are deeply attuned to their senses. They can see in a visual range that humans can not, and they are able to soar high in the sky. Their presence suggests a time to 'look closer' or 'deeper' at the world and people around you, especially to the 'unseen': a closer look at your feelings, your unconscious, or to have better empathy for the struggles of others.
