Here, the Owl is represented by its claw and sharp talons, used during the hunt to soundlessly and suddenly strike its prey. This claw is impressive in size and bears more weight than the majority of our jewels. It is solid sterling silver, it's nails as sharp as they would be in nature, the detail is exquisite. 

Owls are nocturnal birds of prey, ruling the sky at night as the Eagle does during the day. It is longed to be believed to be in tune with the ‘unseen world’ as they are nocturnal creatures that live in darkness: their acute sense of hearing and seeing, as well as the soft feathers at the edges of their wings that make them nearly soundless in flight. Due to its stealth while hunting, the Owl is often seen as a symbol of death, which is also a symbol of transformation. Seen with Goddesses of lore such as Athena and Hecate, the Owl is also been known to be companions of shamans who call on their powers to connect to Spirits and the Spirit World. Its intelligence and cunning whilst hunting have lent to the saying ‘Wise as an Owl.’

For comfort, durability, and to match the impressive size of the claw, we have paired this impressive pendant with the large scaled version of our sterling silver signature bar link chain. The Prophet worn in the last image is measured at 30" in length. Both chain and pendant have been oxidized to a deep shadowy grey, and hand finished to bring out the highlights of the glowing silver beneath.
