The image of the double serpent guarding treasure or assisting a God, or twinned together has echoed across time and cultures as representing the harmony between opposing energies : the poison and the drug, life and death, the masculine and feminine archetypes within the binary, chaos and order and so on.

Here, our twin serpentine guardians have been reduced to their spines and skulls, having shed their viscera and their skins, leaving only their skeletal structures behind to protect a round moonstone.

Inspired by the inherent promise of change and transformation within the disruption & despair of The Tower card, The Shedding Time is a talisman of emotional resilience, the strength of the spine, for times when everything feels as if our hearts are lost within the ruins of the Tower.

Moonstone:

Moonstone is closely tied to the moon, with some cultures believing the stone is solidified moon rays, while others think of them as embodiments of the moon's tears. This jewel is hand cut and therefore may have small signs of the carver's hands. As this has not been fabricated by a machine, it has been made by hand and therefore isn't uniformly perfect. The photographs accurately portray the quality of the stone.
