The Sphinx: Cocoon Necklace

$200.00

I like to meditate on what happens within a cocoon when sitting with the medicine of this card. First, the caterpillar body suspends itself and weaves itself a silky cocoon to transform within. This radical transformation of their selves includes a near total disintegration of their previous bodies into a kind of jelly that reforms itself, while still retaining memory. The body shapes itself into what it will become while within this dark and creatively fertile place; a creature unlike the caterpillar, a creature with beautiful iridescent wings and the new ability to fly.

This is a talisman for when we are feeling suspended within our cocoons, for when we are feeling the need for transformation, for when we are willing to connect more deeply with our shadow. It is medicine for the courage we need to face ourselves, to quiet the noise of our ego.

My husband has been the only one who’s owned the cocoon necklace for the last couple of years and I’ve finally decided to add it to the shop for others to wear and hopefully love as we have loved. It’s a solid sterling silver life cast of a Sphinx Moth cocoon and acts as a talisman for transformation - The Hermit, The Hanged Man, the eye of the storm - the complete destruction of oneself in the same space oneself is rebuilt. A balm. Moth medicine.

This listing is for one solid sterling silver sphinx moth cocoon pendant. It is paired with our signature sterling silver bar link chain, oxidized to our gloomy grey finish, in the length of your choice 20" or 30"

Cocoon measures approximately 50mm tall and 13mm at its widest.
