Inspired by my grandmother's collection of souvenir spoons, this functional silver spoon features a belladonna flower in bloom at the top and a leaf curling around the handle for additional stability when "in use". Designed to be fully functional as a talismanic object to be used alongside a ritual practice for the petite dosage of objects such as herbs for ceremonial use, powdered incense, soil collecting, salve dispensing, or anything else that you feel will fit within the small bowl of the spoon.
Belladonna is considered to be one of the most poisonous plants in the Witch's Garden, used in the ancient recipe of the "flying ointment" first used by historic European witches for hallucinogenic bodily experiences which connected them to the spirit world / their unconscious, while the lore had them traveling to black sabbaths, riding otherworldly beasts, shape-shifting and engaging in grotesque sexual acts. In addition to the hallucinogenic properties of these ointments/salves, they were often used for pain management and healing in smaller doses. Larger doses of Belladonna as well as the other ingredients ( mandrake, henbane, hemlock, poppy, Datura ( though this is contested as Datura was not native to Europe ) used in this infamous salve could lead to prolonged madness and even death. As Paracelsus said, "The dosage makes the poison".
Wear as a talisman for healing and protection, utilizing the spoon to dole out the correct dosage of both when needed.
***( Caution: don't dig into anything too hard, silver is, after all, a softer metal than those meant for actual digging/cutting, but is absolutely practical for gentle use. This is not meant to be used as a spoon for food consumption* )***
