Composed of two shades of our beloved gray moonstone beads and life cast barred owl vertebrae, this strand represents the final three full moons of this winter season. This shorter strand features each “moon” hugged by two vertebrae, guarded by the spine bones, known for strength and bravery. Barred owls are known to be most active during winter, hunting, mating and guarding territory even into late winter. As a talismanic vessel this represents all aspects of the owl’s lunar qualities, its stealth, intuition, precision, and wisdom, as well as the symbolism of the spine in the face of the long nights of winter. Designed specifically for those who struggle with the shorter days but who also appreciate the night, this strand is a companion for those seeking inspiration in the deep darkness of the coldest season. 

It measures approximately 21.5 inches long from end to end. If you would like the length extended to 23.5 inches please reach out via email after placing your order. At its closure is our is our Large Eye clasp, cast in sterling silver, oxidized to our favorite gloomy grey and finished to highlight the shining silver beneath. This clasp is tactile in nature making it easily held between the tips of your fingers and rubbed for comfort in times of grief, anxiety, dissociation, as well as during moments of joy and wonder.  

Gray Moonstone:

Gray moonstone shares many of the same metaphysical properties as the rest of the moonstone family. It is closely tied to the moon, with some cultures believing the stone is solidified moon rays, while others think of them as embodiments of the moon's tears.
